- Winter (Jan–Mar)Midges; BWO; Early Black Stones; Blue Quill / late-Mar Quill Gordon if regional prior holds (inside DH).
- Spring (Apr–May)Hendrickson, March Brown, Quill Gordon; Grannom → Hydropsyche (pupa key); Sulphurs evening; Light Cahill; Giant Stones; BWO (inside DH through first Sat Jun — confirm NCWRC).
- Early summer (Jun)Sulphurs / Light Cahill / Yellow Sally / Green Sedge / first terrestrials after DH window (confirm regs).
- High summer (Jul–Aug)Midges on TW; terrestrials; Tricos on flats; Yellow Sally / Golden Stones — ethics critical.
- Fall (Sep–Dec)Terrestrials taper; Light Cahill dusk; midges + BWO; October Caddis; Early Black Stones. DH reopens Oct (confirm NCWRC).
Gap: No Nantahala-specific hatch list. Final hand-bind between 03504000 vs 03505550 not decided.

Without a temp sensor on this water, treat all °F bands as thermometer-first. Midge film in cold water. Generation pulse overrides any “good hatch hour.”
