Bug image attribution

Stage photos are QC’d for taxon + life-stage match. Only confirmed public-domain images remain on bug pages; other stage slots use a Coming soon placeholder (accuracy > completeness). Credits below cover files still in use under img/bugs/.

  • Epeorus nymph — USGS Fort Collins Science Center — Epeorus longimanus (Public Domain). Used on Quill Gordon nymph.
  • Hydropsyche larva — USGS / FFI (Dave Herasimtschuk) — Hydropsyche sp. (Public Domain). Used on Caddis larva.
  • Adult caddisfly — USGS media (Public Domain). Used on Caddis adult.
  • Cased caddis larvae — USGS media (Public Domain). Used on October Caddis larva.
  • Chironomid larva — USGS media (Public Domain). Used on Midges larva.

Removed from pages (wrong taxon, wrong stage, stand-in, or unconfirmed ID): prior “mayfly nymphs” gut-sample file, mislabeled Epeorus “adult,” generic mayfly subimago, Hexagenia stand-in, site mayfly illustration, mislabeled net-spinning / stonefly “adult” files, and unconfirmed grasshopper macro. Do not imply USGS / USFWS / photographer endorsement.
